Tried a new pattern

I tried a new pattern on my latest cinch and it turned out better than I anticipated but there are still some lack of symmetry areas. How do you make sure each side of the design is going to match perfectly?

Awesome color choices Whitney! Thanks for putting this out there. This is something you'll deal with as a maker your whole Maker Career 😂 Good job for grabbing the bull by the horns and going for it with new pattern.

Theres a couple things I see here that will help clean up your designs!

1) Work on the spaces between your rows. For example the right side is tighter than the left, and it seems to trend through the whole cinch. When this happens, its going to skew your design. So really focus on eliminating those spaces.

2) Sometimes your designs need to work in chunks; get your center rings done with a continues pieces, then as you move into your designs, you can do blocks or halves in different pieces. also work on your tension here.

Starting is half the battle, so keep at it! The more you make (focusing on propelr technique, the better you'll get!)

Really spend time working on the foundational techniques we learn in class. Take some extra time if you need. And when you have specifics, pop over to the ask Tucker topic and drop questions or concerns that i'll address in the Coaching Call Dec 3rd. 🫶🏻
